This day was a great day to be part of the community and the APX family. It was so wonderful to be part of a huge organization put on by BYU, and to see families come together to help out. I came by myself, and was touched by the whole event, I called my wife to have her come over and serve as well. This was another wonderful opportunity that APX had, to show their love for service.

This day was awesome! I love being able to serve others as part of my job at APX. It's great to work for a company that cares not only about it's customers, but the communities we are in, and even in places throughout the world where we don't do business.

What an outstanding day this was. Just a few hours out of my day could have made a huge difference in someone else’s.
I learned a couple things while serving: 1) that I had a particular talent for sewing who knew a big lug like me could be good with a needle and thread. 2) that the dolls, hats, puppets, blankets and other items we made go all around the world. How neat to know that the items I worked on could end up in any country.
Doing something for others, what a great way to improve your mood throughout the day and bring into perspective that whatever your trials are there are people out there with greater ones, spend your time helping them and your trials become much less trivial.

Thank you APX and BYU for the opportunity.

It was a great time to spend helping others. We listened to some great speeches about service then they put us to work. Our group stuffed dolls and sewed them up. We actually made paperhearts and sewed them in the dolls. These dolls were to be sent to our patriots serving over seas. There were a lot of kids helping out, I could tell they were enjoying doing the projects because they knew it would benefit other people.

We also made puppets. We would outline the puppet, cut it out, then sew it together. We had a great team from Apx working together to make these puppets for homeless shelters across the state.

I had a great time helping out with everyone from Apx and everyone else who came to support. I woudl do this again in a heart beat. Thank you Apx for being a part of this great event. I felt we really did touch lives.

We had a great time as a family! I don't think there is a better way to spend a holiday like Human Rights Day, than to work on projects for others. We made letters for the troops (with huge amounts of glitter, hearts, and glue), we made dolls by stuffing them and sewing up the sides, and we made hand-puppets for child learning locations. The girls have "marble" jars at home that they earn when they make good choices... for this day they both got the "Big Marbles" (shooters) to take up some good space toward their chosen award.
