APX Alarm and IASK Team Up in Providing Relief Supplies for Haitian Earthquake Victims
On January 12, 2010, an earthquake struck Haiti, claiming an estimated 200,000 lives and becoming one of the worst catastrophes in modern history. The tragedy left hundreds of thousands of people injured and homeless, many of them children.
In response to Haiti’s desperate need for medical supplies, APX Alarm and the International Aid Serving Kids (IASK) held a “Medical Supply Drive” on January 23 at the new APX Alarm corporate headquarters in Provo. Local businesses and concerned citizens were encouraged to bring donations where teams of volunteers sorted and prepared the supplies for delivery to Haiti.
IASK is a non-profit organization that specializes in providing medical and dental care to children in Haiti and the Dominican Republic. APX Alarm also made a contribution of $5,000 on Feb. 17 to assist in the ongoing relief efforts. A day later, organizer Illens Dort, a native of Haiti, led a team of 30 medical and surgical specialists to Leogane, Haiti.
“There has already been an amazing outpouring of support from our employees to get involved, following this unimaginable human tragedy,” says Josh Houser, President of the APX Family Foundation. “The challenges faced in the country will still take a considerable amount of time and resources in the future to help those in need.”

I think its awesome that APX Alarm continues to give. I personally know many people from Haiti having met them when I lived in the east coast. When I found out about the earthquake I wanted to know what I personally could do to help a country in need. I was pleased to find that APX Alarm had set up a drive to collect medical supplies. It is refreshing to work for a company that is so involved, that takes the time to find those in need and to help in whatever way it can. God Bless the people of Haiti. And God Bless the people of APX Alarm that have a mind to serve one another.
It is really neat to see APX continue to support the community in many different endevors to help people here and around the world. I helped at the medical drive and it was neat to see people come and give things they had at home to help such a wonderful cause.
It’s great to be part of an organization that steps in so quickly to help those in need. We have such a great variety of ways to help others.
I wouldn’t expect anything less from APX. I had the opportunity to volunteer in TX after the hurricain, and it was great to see how many awesome people that work for APX have such a giving attitude and heart. APX will continue being great with all the amazing people that we have! Thanks everyone
Its was a great experience
The cool thing about these fundraisers and different events the APX Family foundation puts together is the face that the whole family can be involved. Our kids were able to go help contribute their time and donate some medical supplies for this effort. What a great way to teach our children to help others in need.
