The Houston sales team broke out their paint brushes and rollers on their day of service for the His Place Child Center in Houston, Texas.

“It was really nice to be able to work together as a team while serving the community,” said APX Alarm Houston Sales Manager, Matt Stevenson. “It reminded us what we’re doing in Houston for the summer: trying to protect families and secure their futures.”

The Canadian Cancer Society Relay For Life is a celebration of survival, a tribute to the lives of loved ones and a night of fun, friendship and fundraising to beat cancer. Relay For Life involves teams of 10 people who participate in an overnight non-competitive relay. Participants take turns walking, running or strolling around a track. Teams consist of people representing corporations, communities, families and friends.

On April 20, out-fitted with 10 laptop computers and a new printer graciously donated by APX GIVES BACK, I spent two days on a plane headed for the Republic of Congo in Africa.

A friend of mine emailed me several weeks earlier inquiring about donations for a school in the Congo that is in desperate need of monetary support, primarily for a few computers. He described the school and students as follows:

The school is an L-shaped building with open windows and doors. It houses K thru 12th grade students, and is on supplemental electricity from the government so there are times when it’s run by generator.

As part of the 2010 Provo School District Foundation 8th annual Easter basket fundraiser program, APX Alarm was pleased to participate in this year’s corporate auction to help raise funds for after school programs. With gift baskets ranging from $20 – $25,000, the auction raised over $100,000 which all the proceeds raised are going directly to after school programs in the Provo School District.

Earlier this month, APX invited students from Sunset View Elementary School in Provo, Utah to visit the new corporate headquarters and provide a “little” extra incentive to help them in their after school programs.

On Sep. 3, Vice Principal, Michelle Wall welcomed APX Alarm as part of the school’s assembly celebrating their 50 year anniversary and thanked APX Alarm for the $10,000 donation to be used for the 2009-2010 school year. APX Alarm has become a partner in education with the school
